About Sarah and Molly

Sarah Ahearn Bellemare is a mixed-media painter who lives in Northampton, Massachusetts with her ecologist husband and precious, yet adorable little girl. She’s been an artist for as long as she can remember and she feels extremely fortunate that her passion and career have merged and that being an artist is now her job. Sarah’s mixed media paintings are layered with found images, fragments of text from old books, and pieces of vintage maps. These ephemera become the fabric and focus of her whimsical paintings, many of which are inspired by her childhood memories of time spent by the seashore on Cape Cod.  Her first book Painted Pages: Fueling Creativity with Sketchbooks and Mixed Media(Quarry Books, May 2011) can be found on bookshelves nationwide, on Amazon, and at your favorite local bookshop. She’s taught students aged 2-82 in a variety of settings, most recently in-person at Squam Art Workshops, and online through her popular workshop series Painted Pages Workshop
